Dr. Somi Oh, O.D., F.I.O.S., F.O.A.A
Dr. Oh received her Doctor of Optometry with high honors from the School of Optometry at U.C. Berkeley and has been successfully practicing optometry in the Bay Area since 1983. She has helped open 5 practices and has a long history of excellence in all aspects of optometric care, including diagnosis and treatment of vision problems and ocular health.
She specializes in practicing corrective vision therapy, Orthokeratology, a non-surgical procedure to eliminate or reduce myopia and/or astigmatism. She is an industry pioneer, particularly in corrective therapy with children, and has taught internationally and published papers on the subject. She brought Orthokeratology to Seoul, Korea in 1993.
Dr. Oh prides herself in providing excellent family eye care for clear vision and long term eye health.
Dr. Melanie Zhang
Dr. Melanie Zhang graduated from UC Berkeley School of Optometry with Honors in 2012. Shortly after graduation, she joined the US Air Force as an aeromedical optometrist, managing the eye health of thousands of service members and their families in a large military hospital in Texas. There, she developed special interests in dry eye therapy, contact lenses, and corneal refractive surgery management. In 2014, she moved back to California to join the US AF Reserves and became an associate at Eye Boutique Optometry.
As a member of the American Academy of Optometry, Dr. Zhang keeps up with the latest technology and research in vision sciences in order to better serve her patients. She is fluent in Mandarin and is working on improving her Spanish. In her spare time, she enjoys outdoor activities, painting and spending time with her husband and daughter.
Dr. Sandra Lee
Dr. Sandra Y. Lee was born in New York, raised in Palo Alto, California, and finished high school in Seoul, Korea. She proudly attended Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania where she earned a Bachelors degree in Mathematics. She graduated from the Southern California College of Optometry with a Doctor of Optometry Degree and certifications in TLG and injections.
Due to personal experience with idiopathic CRVO at a young age, Dr. Lee has a deep dedication to creatively educate the community about the importance of regular eye examinations and to expand her knowledge of management / treatment of eye diseases. Dr. Lee is also interested in specialty contact lenses and how current and future usage of technologies will affect the human sight and perception. In her free time, she enjoys drawing, volunteering, learning new languages and spending time with friends and family.
Kate Kim, Office Manager
Kate has been an Office manager/Optician since 2006, works closely with patients to make sure your choice of eye-wear has the form, fit, and function you deserve to optimize your vision quality. She is an insurance billing specialist and also willing to help patients with their medical and vision benefits. Kate prides herself on customer service and ensures that your visit to Eye Boutique will be an exceptional experience! Kate speaks Korean and English
Cristela Gonzalez, Assistant Manager/Insurance Billing Specialist
Cristela has been an optometrist assistant since 2004. She can speak both English and Spanish. She enjoys working with patients with frame selections and contacts as well as ortho-k lens training's, while providing excellent customer service. Also she is taking care of our medical and vision insurance billing.
Soyoung Seo, Optician/Lab Technician
Soyoung has been an optician since 2013. She is very knowledgeable with lenses and eyewear. She works hard to deliver the best services to patients. She speaks Korean and English.
Daniela Montes, Optometrist Assistant/Lab Technician
Daniela has been an Optometrist Assistant since 2016. She is friendly and very willing to help. She takes care of all the pre-testing before going in with the doctor. She enjoys helping patients and makes sure they walk out with a smile. Daniela can speak Spanish and English.
